Sijarinska
Banja - Sijarinska Spa
Sijarinska Banja (Sijarinska Spa) is situated in the
southern part of Serbia, at the height of 520 m above
sea level.
The
two springs send up warm water in the form of geyser
and that is the unique phenomenon in Serbia. A column
of water of one geyser is 9 m high, while the other
spring sends up water at intervals of each 9 minutes.
The Spa is surrounded with hills covered
with thick oak and beech forest. The nearby river offers
possibilities for fishing and the surroundings of the
Spa are suitable for hunting.
Close to the Spa there are ruins of "Caricin grad"
(the Queen's Town) from the early Byzantine period.
Curative Factors:
The Spa has 26 springs (out of which 18 are curative)
of thermal-mineral water which are coming up from the
depth of 800 m. The water temperature is from 26 to
72 degrees Centigrade. There is also radioactive-sulphur-bearing
mud.
