3. BEOGRAD - UŽICE - ZLATIBOR - MONTENEGRO (234 km)

At townlet of Preljina 140 km southward from Beograd the Ibar road turns towards west to Cacak.
Along the bank of the Zapadna Morava the road passes through the picturesque. Ovcar-Kablar gorge. In this gorge there are monasteries (13 – 17 C) and Ovcar Banja, a spa with curative mineral water.
From Užice the winding road climbs up into the mountain region and via townlet Cajetina reaches Zlatibor (25 km) and tableland Zlatibor (1,000 m ) one of the best-known mountainous and climatic centres of Serbia. Extremely pleasant climate is good for recreation and contributes especially in treatment of anemia and kidney diseases.
Several kilometers east of Prijepolje there is a well-known monastery Mileševa (13 C), with outstanding frescoes among which there is a renowned one Beli Andeo (the White Angel). Southward of Prijepolje the road enters Crna Gora and via Bijelo Polje, Kolašin and through the very attractive canyon of the river Moraca it descends into Podgorica towards the coast of MonteNegro.

Alternative direction: Lazarevac-Valjevo-Bajina Bašta-Tara-Federation of Bosna and Hercegovina

From Lazarevac it is possible to turn to Valjevo 33 km far away, the town on the river Kolubara lying below the wooded mountain slopes, with a number of historical monuments in the town and its vicinity. Nearby Valjevo there is Divcibare, one of the best-known climatic places of Serbia (1,000 m above sea level), and Maljen – mountain with beautiful coniferous and deciduous forests, meadows and glades as well as excellent opportunities to recreate and recuperate due to its climate.
Via Povlen mountain the road leads to townlet Bajina Bašta in the vicinity of which there is Perucac on the river Drina by the big artifical lake (entrance to Bosna and Hercegovina Federation).
From Bajina Bašta the road leads through picturesque mountain regions and climbs up the slopes of Tara mountain, one of the most beautiful ones in Serbia, passing by the tourist settlement at Bajina Bašta.
From Tara the road descends to location of Kremna, and then at Mokra Gora enters the Federation of Bosna and Hercegovina.
